So will this be a flaming monk, a figure that is literally on fire? Or a model that has an affinity with the element? Will we be seeing something along the line of Street Fighter's Ryu and his Hadouken fireball move?
Will we then be seeing and earth water and air monks?

Some of the current monks abilities certainly sound elemental :)
"To a real warrior, power perceived may be power achieved."
Within the Jwar isles the Monks tell that the world is formed by wind, water, fire, metal, wood and the void.
These are also reflected in the different personalities of man. A person can have a strong affinity to one element and be strongly led by that.
Most have two guiding elements.
Every so often comes a person that encompasses three of the elements, half the elements and therefore is able to find true balance. These people are said to have the power to change the world.

I'm starting to get a more Avatar, air-bender feeling with this addition. So, we'll have animal friends and 'benders'.
With xoddsx's Jwar history lesson - lot's of cool elemental possibilities open. I'm glad I chose Monks as my main faction. I would have voted for the fire monk in the preview poll, but come on....it's a two-headed Oni.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.

And here I was thinking the Fire Monk would have been Kentucky Fried Krishna
I was fantastic! And it was a bloody good laugh!

There were a couple of well named takeaways in Birmingham. One, a fish a chip shop was called Harry Ramadan's, the second called Karachi Fried Chicken! Also saw a kebab shop up in Scotland (I think) with the genius name of Abra-Kebabra
Warning: May become grumpy when drunk
Monks are clearly very cool full stop
This act of aggression must be met with swift and cruel ferocity, it is time to cry "havoc" and let slip the dogs of war
I second the 'Avatar' path of a fire bender type thingy but hopefully (for the sake of my beloved Wave) not a kick-ass, super hot (in a chick way), fireball-chucking super monk.
Though it would be cool.
@Corpsesmith - 'The Good Plaice' I have seen somewhere. Also (slightly off course) 'The Fawcett Inn' always made me smile.
Slipping on messes you made when I hit you makes me more excitable.

Ahh, sorry then "the man"
Off Topic, i think "Hairy Popins" and the "Come Inn" are great.

That's ok Master T, no need to apologise. I did also state that it would be cool even if she was a kick-ass, super hot (in a chick way), fireball-chucking super monk.

Agreed!!! But then again I play the Wave....
Lol, can't wait till you boys get your hands on the first wave.

When I was painting up Matsu, I did a whole bunch of research into Oriental (predominantly Chinese) culture / mythology surrounding colours and found that they have 5 elements -
"Traditional Chinese physics taught that the five elements are water, fire, wood, metal and earth, in that order. They correspond to black, red, blue-green, white and yellow."
It certainly made me rethink how I was going to paint up my Rokan - Kenko's now got a green (wood) and white (metal) paint scheme to reflect his oak / iron feats... I'm a little stuck for Yumi as wind doesn't appear in that list!
What'll be odd is painting Riku up black and not blue... but then with the blue water, maybe not such a bad idea...
but I guess, going back to Bushido specific fluff, with people having between 1 and 3 elements dependingon their skill, that would support the fluff that Kenko is medium level (2 elements), Yumi, Riku and especially Hotaro are more novice (1 element)... and Ekusa?... without explicit reference to elements, I'll be painting him up as the most colourful of the monks to represent his mastery over various elements.
I htink I tend to over analyse this stuff…!
Just recalled- GCT were lovely enough to give best temple player the fire monk model- after a sneak peek i think it may be the best Ro Kan model yet!
Never tell me the odds: Han Solo;)
