Please take a porcelain mask and don't worry about the fit,  I can guarantee you won't notice it after a short while...

Hi all,

Just placed an order for the cult starter set and cant wait to get my hands on these excellent minis! Read the rules online and the game looks ace and thanks to everyone for the battle reports, really gives a good impression to those new to the game.

About me, ive been gaming for 15+ years now with my main love being Warmachine and Hordes but my real interest is painting. And that is probably what drew me to this game - the opportunity to paint these awesome minis. I have a painting blog which i would be very greatfull for you to look at (i have an update on the way soon) and i will definitly be posting pics of my Busido minis :)

I look forward to chatting with you all and being a part of the Bushido community

Hi rob and welcome. Had a look at your blog. The kimono on the big trouble in china mini is fantastic, great freehand work. So jealous and now scared to try that on my Ikiryo. Won't look anyway as good as yours.

I was fantastic! And it was a bloody good laugh!

Hey all, I'm Tony from Tasmania, Australia.

I don't play games all that much but I can't stop collecting models, and when I saw this new game stocked on Wayland games I had to have the cult starter set.

Unrelated: Where did all the stories go from the 'tales of jwar isles' section?

Hi Tony,  always good to see a new recruit to the Cult.  Even if you don't get many games in the figures paint up really well and having seen what's coming down the line, there are some sublime models on the way...

Welcome to Bushido Tony,

I'm glad you like our models. Nezumi will be released for the cult on the 12th of August.

The initial stories are gone now and wont be coming back... However, watch this space as there are many more in the pipeline :-)

Thanks for the welcome guys. :)

So far I've painted the two Kairai Villagers and the marrionette, and I have been very impressed with the quality of the models so far. No flash and no mould lines, great detailing (I love the rat on the villagers shoulder), good poses. I'll be putting in an order for the Nezumi when it is released, and I can't wait to see greens of the orphan, the concept art for that is amazing!

xoddsx, when you say the stories won't be coming back, do you mean to the website, or altogether. In other words, will they be put into the full print version of the rules that I hear is coming in the future, or they just gone for good? The curious incident was the only one I got to read, and it was quite good.

Being put into the full print rulebook would make sense, and that'd be my guess... but it's just that, a guess. :)

I live in Berlin, Germany and play Malifaux a lot. I do Henchmaning :) here for Wyrd and a friend showed me Bushido. What I realy like in a tabletop is, if there is some extra tactical element like cards (Malifaux) or the dice mechanic in Bushido!

My biggest hope is for a large and complete rulebook for bushido in the not to far future, as my experience has shown me that a game realy starts to grow and attract players than.

Well done guys, a great game, thanks!

Guess the Caber wasn't a big clue, I'm from Scotland wink.  Town called Livingston, about 12 miles west of Edinburgh specifically.  Looking to drum up interest at our shop (Worlds at War), where we already have a big Warmachine/Hordes, Flames of War and 40K following.  Couple of us are also looking at Malifaux, with one guy giving demo's.

Just put the order through for the Ryu boxset, so will let you know how it goes.

Just had a look at your blog, interested to read the progression from opening to painted models.

Been a lurker hereabouts for a bit. Finally decided to register.

My name is Curtis, and I'm a Deputy Marshal in Southeast Idaho, USA. I cut my my miniature wargaming teeth on Chainmail and Stryker in the late 1970s. I've been playing with toy armies of one sort or another since. I currently play the following on a regular basis...
- Warmachine/Hordes
- MonPoc
- MERCS
- Dust Tactics
- Wings of War
- ACTA: Noble Armada
- Firestorm Armada

I am proud to say I can now add Bushido to this list! I came across Bushido on a vendor's website. Looked it up, and liked what I saw. After reading the rules, I twisted my FLGS owners ear for a few weeks until he finally (through several emails from me with folks here and Warpath distributing) decided to carry the line. I now own all 4 Starter Sets and have nearly finished painting the Temple of Ro-Kan, and have a solid start on the Savage Wave!

I'll be demoing the game at Southeast Idaho's Bi-Annual boardgame convention in October.

I'll play all four. Especially for demos. However, for my chosen faction I like the most I was leaning heavily towards the Prefecture, having grown up in Hawaii and studied Kendo from a true Samurai descendant. However, you then released pics of Kitsune, and man, that girl is so "Foxy" I'm afraid I'm now smitten with the Ro-Kan! Must be I've been ensorcelled. ;)

Might surprise you to know, I have never been to the Fringe lol.   While my blog is predominantly Warmachine/Hordes, I feel it is a great medium to promote other games I am interested in as well.  An unboxing, while it is entertaining (I hope) for my readers; it is also a memory aid for me.

Hi all, i'm Keeper Nilbog (Kevin Thomas), and live in Bridgend, South Wales. Have looked at this game before, but after seeing the figures 'in the flesh', as it were, at Colours yesterday - couldn't resist.

My background in all things Japanese is long, but not deep. I played Bushido RPG by FGU (and also ran it, and still own it) on and off for around 15 years, so am aware of some of the myths of the area, along with the interesting varient of creatures (will we see Kappa ? - half man/half turtle which keep water from their home lake/sea in a depression in their head).

I brought the Savage Wave starter + extra Bakemono at colours, and intend to have fun painting them (just got a digital camera, so once i work out how to post pictures, i will)

As you will find out the Bakemono are not house trained and shouldn't be left near anything you don't want them to eat :)

Hey everyone im Andy from Hereford in England, got my Temple of Ro-Kan starter and Kitsune models from Colours last weekend along with aload of guys from my local gaming club. Look forward to getting my models and board set up and ready to go, so i can start having some games.

I mostly play Warhammer fantasy and 40k but just the intro game at Colours sold me on Bushido! have played a small amount of warmachine aswell and think small skrmish games are going to eat alot of my free time in the near future.

Bushido yes, or Bushido no. Bushido maybe and squish like grape!

Hi all,

I'm Andy, the "paint monkey" (I prefer the term "Acrylic Baboon" myself) for the Ancible magazine.  Loved the Prefecture of Ryu boxed set, and have Bikou to paint now to go with them - hopefully I'll have some pictures soon.

Hi all.

New to the boards and haven't actually bought any of the miniatures yet but think I will end up with the Temple of Rokan. One question I have is can the individual mini's from the starter sets be bought seperately? There are one or two from other factions I would also love to pick up just to paint.

Hi Nine,

Welcome to the boards enjoy your stay. Currently the miniatures in the starter sets an not available separately but could be in the future. Out of curiosity which figures were they?

Cheers

The puppet master figure is the main one but after seeing the new orphan model I could be swayed to Cult. Of course then I would want the Ekusa miniature just to paint along with the Gorilla and Fox miniatures.......

Decisions, decisions!

Hi - my name is Sam and I like cool models. Of which this has plenty! I was tempted to the cult when I saw the Big Monkey and had to go Temple. And then the very awesome Spirit and Orphan model comes along, but as I want to run some demos and get other guys in Cardiff into Bushido I can justify getting both factions to my wallet!

I currently play a lot of Malifaux primarily so it'll be nice to roll dice again. I am definitely a better painter than player though (thats not saying much though). I have almost finished the Gorilla so I'll stick a pic or two up soon.

Anyone in Cardiff/South Wales who wants to play let me know!

Cheers,

Sam

Do you go down to Cut n Thrust Wargaming at all? I have been there for a Malifaux tournament and could pop out there for some Bushido every now and again? It's a fantastic store with great tables.

Thanks,
