The prefacture seems indestructible. They walk together with armor, Countercharge, and coordinated attacks. And then add Hiro.
With only starters is very hard to beat them with only 2 monks. Ekusa helps a lot, but when one monk is down im very f&%$d.
Also, some tips to use Kenko? Today I use attack multiple opponents against Jin and Hiro... bad Idea xD Hiro cutted my head, and I do nothing. Lesson learned, dont engage Hiro xD
I allways forgot the reroll too >_< I could save Kenko from dead...

Obvious things:
Exhaust Hiro using your turtle powers, then go for his lackeys so he's on his own.
Use Channel/Leach to fill a single figure up with ki to be able to heavily use their abilities (kenko is amazing for it) and beat down the people you can.
When meeting hero, if he's not got unblockable strike on the go, roll full defence, or nearly full, with 1 white dice, to optimise not being decapitated.
Remember bodyguard means that if hiro gets to an important figure, you can sling a cheaper peasant in his way to stop him cutting them down.
If you need a turn of breathingspace, use aura of serenity to block fighting for the turn.
And yes, never attack multiple opponents when they're better fighters than you. You use it pretty much exclusively for beating on bakemono and swarms.
The monks definately have the tools to deal with Prefecture. I personally think that temple are the best of the 4 factions by a reasonble margin. You have hard hitters and a lot of tricks.
Everything Jswiers says is great advice, especially the tips about master Ekusa. (though I still think the Wave are the best faction at 35 rice;)) I think the best way to play Bushido against any opponent tougher than you is to stop trying to kill things and get the objectives, no matter how hard Hiro is he can only guard one objective out of 2, 3 or even 4, so if you just ignore him or feed him peasants and focus on the other objectives you'll always stand a chance of winning the game.
Targeting key models is also very important in Bushido. Hiro is a proper killing machine but its Hanso who provides the Prefecture with its tactical abilities, with both command and move it giving the ability to match Ro'kans manouevrability, so if you take him out of the picture with either CoE or just punching him in the head you'll find you can run rings round the ashigaru. especially if you manage your Ki properly.
Having said all that, sometimes you just need good dice rolls, I've had Hiro fighting one Bakemono for 4 turns before now, which did not make him look good!
hope this is helpful.

An Aiko buffed Kenko gets a +7 damage fist (8+ charge, or one die less if you dont use Aiko). As long you get an ok hit its an instant kill even to armored opponents.
Greeny is correct. I allways force a draw thanks to the objectives, but sometimes I want some Kung-Fu Fighting XD
Thanks all for the tips. Next game I'll try to use Kenko with +7DMG hit. I hope to obtain a decent combat roll >_> Very often I win with 0 SL.
Sorry my poor english >_< Bushido FTW !!
I managed to get a fully buffed gorilla in on Hiro and got him down to 1 health point, and was lucky enough to not die. I the spent the following 2 turns exhausting him with the turtle, before finally getting the gorilla to finish him off. Would've got Kenko in there but he was tied up with ashigarus.
I agree tho that the prefecture armour is a right pain in the ass - all to often I was not even getting one damage on them, but that was to do with some continuously bad dice rolling... It picked up by the end!
The tricky bit about RoKan i find is stacking the turtles Ki management and AoS, Aiko's blessings and the -1 Ki feat from the peasant in before attacking stuff - leaves a lot of opportunities for the opponent to get the attacks in first.
Question: Can the reroll granted by Atsuko be used to the Damage roll?
Says Test, so I think he can't. Would be great :P
Sorry my poor english >_< Bushido FTW !!
Nice try but no, its not a test.

The key to Aikos blessings, as well as funneling ki to a mok, is to set them up on turn 1 if you want them. Currently the tokens last all game, Moreso, I'd not bother with them too much if you don't have gorilla, or better still, monkeys or Door gods. She makes a great Ki battery. (leech her ki, then exhaust her for 3 more, and steal that in the second leech of the turn.)
A max ki'd kenko should be able to throw two good hard hits at someone in a turn. With 4 fight dice, he can probably just spend his lot on buying strength onto his blows, and making sure he deals a good ammount of wounds. If someone else attacks him, all the better, as you have the next action to refill him to 6, and throw another hard hit for the turn.
I usually stack blessings on Dog Guardians or Gorilla, so this way I can full attack and heal myself. I dont have Koji and the monkeys yet, so I dont know what they do. Ihope arrive to my local store soon >_<
Sometimes I bless Kenko or another monk for the Fearless trait. Too usefull.
Someone use Body of Oak on Kenko? Never used, but being simple action seems not too usefull.
Tonight I'll try Kenko maxed punch against the Prefacture. Will see ^^
Sorry my poor english >_< Bushido FTW !!
I've had a heavily outnumbered opposing kenko use body of oak on himself instead of making a melee attack, and it worked fantastically, he could have used the Ki in the same action to kill 1 Kairai instead he made himself nigh on indestructible keeping two Kairai and Araka stuck in melee for an entire turn, tough(2) makes pretty much any minor win in melee utterly pointless, and with not outnumbered keeping him with a few dice Kenko did fine, its really a last ditch feat I think, but dont write it off by any means.

I've tried the kenko power fist of dead! 2 games, I killed Yoshio in both games and Jin once :D
Very usefull, now Kenko CAUSES fear. Ok, now Im learning how to use him, next time I'll be more cautious (in second game Minuro killed my assault monk after killing Yoshio).
Were incredible funny games. We play the shrines scenario 2 times. In the last one the epic Ichiro killing a cumbersome+exhausted Hanso with 8DMG hit due to his triger 5!!!!!! Funny :P
One sugestion only. For the staff: In the scenario, IMO is needed a rule to keep the 2 shrines away each other some Inches, cause in Deployment my rival place his Shrine next to mine. Was fun anyway, but is not the idea of the scenario I think.
