Hi all,
I am a new Bushido player and I invested in the ITO faction without knowing exactly how it will perform.
Assuming that they have fighters and monks, it might be a mix between hand to hand and casting.
I was looking for a second faction in order to add it to my 100$ perk and was hesitating between the Savage Wave and the Yurei.
I was expecting either quite a straigt forward tactical faction or something more complex and which will require some experience or technic to be able to perform well. As, for the moment, I do not realy enjoy the Temple and find the Prefecture a bit "classical", I had 2 choices to face the Ito and their 3 added figurines:
Choice 1: Savage Wave + Bobata to encourage those coward Bakemono.
Choice 2: Yurei + Nezumi/Araka/Gengo/Gok to boost their fighting power.
Which one of them seems to be the "getter" choice?
Is there one of those faction which is more complex to play? More fun?
Thanks for the info.

The question might be too difficult or the community useless.
With such an active community, my figurines will surely stay in a closet.
Maybe should I have posted on a site talking about pokemons.
Well ,is saturday so people may be out drinkin and playing ....
Savage wave is always a blast to play .... Cult require a bit more cunning and the play a slow moving game for the first two turns. if you go karai heavy... if you pick rats and nezumi . well thing go fast and deadly....
I thought i had earlier, but my phone 9bvioisly nessed up again, I will answer when i get my pc back, typing on my phone is really hard:) in brief- wave fast and less punishing of mistakes, cult tactically challenging but powerful:) its bank holiday weekend here so families are being visited by many users:)

Ok, sorry for the comment up there.
And thx for your various info :) Enjoy the week end .
Well, I looked but didn't have time to reply at the time.
My rule for all minis games is this: Proxy. Get some stand-in figs, or buy some blank bases, or hell, cut out some paper circles and use them. The rules are online so you can see them. So you know what things do. Try out a couple factions and decide which one you want.
There are some people that call me... Polar_Bear
In fact, most do.
Come see me over at http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/.
Jason is absolutely right. The rules and stats are available, so try them out.
The factions play very differently, but it's such a matter of player style what one likes so it's hard to say what's best for you. Neither of your two proposals are better than the other, objectively.
What sorts of armies do you like in other games?
I follow the rules of bushido. I am a bushi.
You have given me an idea though, on the factions tab we have beautiful images, a bit of fluff and the cards, but nothing about how each faction plays, maybe some players could have a go at writing a short piece for their faction, and GCT could choose their favourite one and either make it a sticky in the appropriate faction forum, or maybe even add it to the tabs? What does everyone think?

Thanks for the answers. In fact I am totally new to the game and I shall not have time to test the various factions. And there is also a big problem, partly by lack of experience, I am not quite good at saying that a rule is better than the other one . I tend to go where there are players and deal with the aspects I do not like :)
Even if I am not a good player, I like the tactical aspect of armies, those who need some experience and research to behave well. However, I do not want to spend days tryiung to find a tactic and then have to stick to it because that is the only thing I know how to do.
About the way to play, I am more hand to hand orientated (norse irish in 7 WRG) than evading and skirmishing (Mongol's tactics). I also like a mix of a bit everything, like a "swiss knife army" which is not specialised but can correctly face various situations when you succeed in organising it correctly. I think I like also armies whith a strong and reliable main body with many options you can choose to help you.
I played Swats at Epic, Dwarves and Griffins at Confrontation, Norse Irishes or Scot Isles and highlands at 7 WRG, Spanish and Carthaginians at DBM. At Malifaux, I shall probably play the Guild (Ortega) and the New Born (Seamus, mostly for the look).
EDIT: Good idea Greeny. That would help a lot I assume if it is writen in a way that noobs and old players can understand (avoiding terms too specific to the game).
Totally off-topic but Seamus is Resurrectionist and not Neverborn.
As I understand it Resurrectionist are pretty easy to field but have a hard time winning, and Neverborn are very strong but hard to master with a steep learning curve. I'm not that experienced at Malifaux so maybe someone with more experience can correct me if I have it wrong.
Woah double post, I don't think this has happened to me before.
@Greeny - Great idea, we'd be more than happy to use some if we get enough to choose from.
@Shakall - Go Cult, difficult at first but have many intricacies and tricks up their sleeves.

Thanks for the varous advice.
I am tempted by the brutality of the Wave , but the Cult might really be as mean as I am ...
