What happens if you are Untrained and roll only ones?
Atsuko rolls one die, and rolls '1'. Does this make it '0', or do I deduct one from the highest result (and '1' counts as '0'), leaving '-1'.
Does it make any difference if she rolls two dice and gets two '1's? Three?
Can you ever get a result below zero?
We just had a heroic fight where Atsuko was down to one die and Hiro rolled four. Hiro rolled all ones, and Atsuko also rolled a one for defence. Did Hiro get success level 0 or 1?

My take on the rules "Every dice roll of 1 (except for damage roll) are counted as a failure and discarded vs Untrained is - Hiro scored a 0 for his attack and his attack failed, and Atsuko's one roll of 1 is 0 also is a fail, which means that for that round of combat nothing happened, ie They were too busy monologing :P
That is my take though, I'd like to see an official answer too.
"Have you forgotten? Aku Soku Zan... To Slay evil immediately was the justice shared by the Shinsengumi and the Manslayer. I cannot stand seeing you like this anymore… "
Hmm, perhaps, I never thought of it like that. It'd be as if Hiro hadn't rolled any die in attack.
On the other hand the next sentence reads "If all the dice you roll come up [1] you are assumed to have rolled a result of “0” for the purposes of calculating game effects."

It appears you have found the answer :)
"To a real warrior, power perceived may be power achieved."
Which one?
That Hiro in effect hasn't rolled any dice?
In that case, do zeros work as tie breakers? That is, if Hiro rolls 2,0,0,0 and Atsuko a 2 - does Hiro win, counting all dice he rolled, as the rules are formulated, or is it a real tie?
[Edit] And my first question still stands: What is Atsukos result if she rolls one '1', or two '1'. Is it zero in both cases, or -1 and -2?
