Any chance we could see the lists people used?

I used a 34 rice list
Master Ekusa
Yumi
Ichiro
Aiko
Gorilla

Struggled a little with activations as well as getting through that armour trait, need to work in the little monkeys and Hotaru I think going forward.

had a blast andy, was great fun, nice venue too, very friendly staff:) thanks to all my opponents- James (Jmwisey)- Kenko was a hero but he was one against millions! Nigel (nigehelm)- The fat man vs rifleman fight was hilarious, and you would have gotten away with it too if it wasnt for that meddling Nezumi! lastly Darren (mercenary_general) I am truly sorry I Lazer Geisha'd Zuba before he got to play. twice.  nice second place though to say you'd never played before that morning! thanks for feeding me an infinite number of Bakemono too:)

I used-

Nezumi and two friends

Ikiryo

Rat Swarm

Gengo

Kairai Ashigaru

I swapped the mini rats for Araka and the Orphan at 50 rice, but I never had to use them!

I thought my list looked balanced, but if I can win a tournament with it, it's clearly broken:)

thanks to all my opponents and everyone for being uber friendly:)

Were there many 50 rice lists?

During the tourney I got to use both my 35 and 50 rice list.

35 Rice

Hiro
Hanso
Yoshiro
Bikou

In hindsight taking the ninja in a low rice cost list was not practical. Really low on activations and in both the games I played with it I was swamped by numbers and exhausted too easily. On a side note I really think Biku is overcosted at 9 rice, but that's for another discussion.

50 Rice

Hiro
Hanso
Yoshiro
Minuro
Matsu
Mizuchi

Played two games with this list and had very good success with it. Hiro and Mizuchi just hammered everything. Really like that Dragon!

I was fantastic! And it was a bloody good laugh!

Here are the few pics I took of some of the forces involved in the tournament.

My Prefecture of Ryu

Micks (Greeny) Cult

James's Temple

Sams (Rudders) Temple

Nigel's Prefecture

Tony's Temple

Robs Prefecture

Unfortunately i didnt get a decent pic of Darrens Savage Wave (WIP painting though)

Some really nice looking forces, and what I did like was 3 Prefecture forces and 3 different colour schemes.

I was fantastic! And it was a bloody good laugh!

During the tourney I used both my 35 and 50 rice list with no luck on either!

35

Ekusa
Kenko
Hotaru
Koji
2 Monkeys

50

As above with Aiko and Shisha as well.

The main thing I take away is that I suck! I really wanted to play with Hotaru and Koji though. Hotaru did ok but I kept getting her tied up with big wound enemies who she would then stay fighting for most of the game (a Gorilla had nine flame tokens on it at one point!). Koji had no joy, although the moment of the tourney for me was when a monkey caught up with the opponents Aiko and took her down amidst demented screaming!

It was a great day - I look forward to the next one and many thanks for the Warband votes to all!

Darran and Nige used the Wave and Prefecture starter boxes respectively.

Cant remenmber for sure but i think it was only 2 people who had just the startsets - everyone else was playing with 35 and 50 lists.

What was really amazing was that Darren, playing with the Wave starterset and never having played before, came 2nd! He was getting some excellent shooting off with the short bows...

No game made it to the full 90 mins either which was great.

I can attribute to Darren's shooting with Bakemono's. Hanso was hit twice at point blank range near enough, and with one Defence dice yet again did I roll a 1! Turn two messenger scenario and a dead Hanso!

I was fantastic! And it was a bloody good laugh!

Good to see different factions placing in at the top in the two recent tournaments.

The outpost ordered in 4 of each starter set and 2 of each blister for all 4 factions and they arrived last Thursday.
I was in today - no cult sets left, one wave set, and just 1-2 wave and cult blisters left either... I wonder how much is to do with wave and cult placing top 2.... Pref and temple are looking about 50% depleted.
Everyone at outposts gone a bit bushido crazy!

Its nice to see a straight out of box starter do well, very encouraging :)

Yep - I think a lot of people were surprised to see Darren's savage wave starter do so well, ESP as it was his first game of bushido! Expect great things from him!!
Nige did pretty well too.

what made Darrens results even more impressive is that he didn't bring any extra bakemono, just the starter set, really picked up their play style quickly, my second game against him was a very different affair than the first!
