Keii (Scenario) question

When calculating the value of the placed gift tokens, does a second gift on the same idol count? We have just counted what idols you have placed gifts on.

If you have, say a bakemono, in BtB with the idol farthest from his starting position, can he then place two tokens on it and count six points?

Yes that is correct you can place unlimited gifts on the same idol.

Hmmm, that changes the scenario a bit for us. I'll have to try playing it as it's meant to then.blush

Nevertheless I can report that it works fine the way we've played it too - you need to spread out quite a lot to try to appease as many ancestors as you can.

Played this one at a demo day yesterday. Love it, I think of all the scenario's I've played so far this one is the most strategic, brain bending one. Turn 2 scoring round both of us scored the same, using three tokens each... That just left 2 turns to score, and only 2 tokens to do it with!

It's a great scenario (at least how we've played it). The tactics will change a little - it'll be more important to be able to place tokens on the one furthest away, and a little less to try to place on several idols.

By the way, how are your idols?

The statues I use are pretty big and block LoS on the opposite side. This means that you cannot stand behind it and ZoC the whole of it, which is fun.

The Idols I have been using are only 30mm across the base, and I've been playing them such that they don't block LoS, or movements, etc.

That said, Iron Dragon has followed Jwardiff, and Idols will be mounted up on 50mm bases. As such when Greenfuji and I played with said if you were within 1" of the statue then you could place a token. So, yeah, same rule applies that you will "generally" be outside a ZoC.. I say generally as extended reach on Jin will definately put you inside that 3" ZoC and 2" is 50.8mm, so you should be in ZoC with normal Reach.
