Ki Tokens

Hello,
I have been working on some Ki tokens, I wished to share with you the result.

Here is how I proceded.

Stage one : collect a large number of 1 cent coins.

I gathered 60, wich therfore cost me the amazing sum of 0.60€ (approx $0.70). My local bushido store has been very helpfull

Put a good layer of white spray on these. For once, you can go frankly, the idea is to get something WHITE WHITE WHITE.

Do that on both sides and let dry.

Stage 2

On your computer, prepare a print of the token you need.

In my case, the coins are 16mm diam, so I use powerpoint to make a circle of 16mm, with a black outline, and white filling.

The token picture. The model I go form this forum  was not clean enough, so I used GIMP do redrawn the symbol. I guess you can also use the built-in symbol base of Microsoft to get the correct ideogram.

REVERSE the image (mirror effect). This is very important, you'll see in the following.

If you are interested, I can send you the ppt file I used at the end.

Prepare a large page with aligned tokens (I had approx 100 on a A4 sheet).
Print this file on transparent paper for printers. You will use this printing up side down, so the printed side will be sticked to the coin, anbd thus protected (this is why it was important to reverse the image :-)).

Stage 3

With some patience, cut all your tokens. I did that with my wife during one TV evening. You may have blisters on your fingers after that, but it is for Bushido!!

Put a drop of white glue on each coin and press a transparent token, to have glue everywhere on the coin. Don't hesitate to press firmly and chasse air bubbles.

Once it is dry, spray a fair amount of varsih on the other side of the coin to protect it form scratches (or glue anther token).

Enjoy!
