@Kahunadave: Getting there... less posting to forums and more painting might help me :P
@ Corpsesmith: Thanks mate, yeah the base was going to have to be something other than the usual green, green grass of home with such green models.
@DeathJester: My thoughts when you posted your pictures first :P However was happy that you'd gone the green & yellow where I went near monochrome green :)
Posting live via blackberry from my demo table at Feat of Arms in Western Australia... Better quality photo's to come, but here's the full completed Prefecture including Wave 1
Wow... it's been waaay too long since I added to this thread.. and to be honest waaay too long since I painted any Prefecture. None the less with Iron Dragon just around the corner I wanted to add an easy 50 in case I decide to use them for the ringer... so without further ado here's Mizuchi!
Wow... Prefecture... It's been a long time between painted models.
Here's a WiP for Mikio, and my first attempt at tattoos
Tattoos are harder than I thought. I thought they would be hard, but this was tougher. However, with the Silvermoon Syndicate (Yakuza) coming soon I figured I had best start practicing
they look really good, the best advice I can give on Tattoos for painters of our level (I'd say we are in the same ballpark) is don't try to make them look too accurate, suggestive is much better, and this guy has that down:)
The tats on the back look great, a lot like the Volcano of Mount Fuja in the 'Koun no Yama' mountain range. Sitting at the north of the Isle of Wakasu, the land of the Buto and home to the city of Jima and the Silvermoon trade syndicate...
nice idea, only four more 2 go, want to see the whole starter set together

Lovely warm colours. You've made great use of the details too. Snow on the base really helps bring it all togethet
Warning: May become grumpy when drunk
Bugger my colour scheme has been nicked!!! Looks great by the way.
I was fantastic! And it was a bloody good laugh!

They're looking really nice so they are, and I see I wasn't the only one to paint mine in the dragon clan colours from L5R

i think they look cool, for better than any attempts i have made, i had not considered how many tats the new faction would need. bugger
