Table no 2

hey, I've made a start on my second tabel, its going to be the inside of a big Gongen style house, with some interchangeable matting so I can make it a rokan dojo, temple, or a prefecture/ito/generic samurai's manor house, It's going to be mainly flat with moving shoji walls so I can change the layout each time we play, and although I've drawn a lot from traditional Japanese architecture I'm adding a few Jwar spins as i go (for a start, the screen walls are big enough to hide an Oni!) Gengo has agreed to show you around the WIP construction site (still need to add the op layer of matting) with one part finished shoji-

I have to thank GreenX as the basic frame was built using his temple base tutorial, scaled up somewhat:)

I'll update as I get around to more, in the (far) future I'm going to add stairs, and two more storeys.

Waooa that's a very clever idea. Modular temple, fully adapted to bushido style, always the same but never the same.
You are already filling my head with loads of ideas. Congrats, that very fine job.

Great idea!

How are you doing the shoji?

I follow the rules of bushido. I am a bushi.

so far the shoji's are heavy duty handmade paper and matchsticks, but it's throwing up some issues so may have to re-think:) thanks for the comments all:)

Hmm, yeah. I was thinking about how to do them as well. Decided I didn't like the idea of gluing all the separate pieces of wood.
The neat, but expensive, way, would be like Oshiro does - laser cut plywood.
