All those sound good, i'd also like to be able to make enemy soulless or cowardly, disrupt channelling/leeching, make enemy feats cost more ki (don't have a rulebook handy but i know there's a trait for that) and maybe the ability to start the game hidden/buried or looking sweet and innocent so they cant be attacked immediately?
It would be nice to see some of those "floating flame" ghosts alongside an Ikiryo/Orphan style spirit controlling them.
Flames could be represented by giving temporal debuffs to particular objetctives into CP or Ki (similar to the new Bakemonos bat). Or they could have a rather ki leeching skill (more ki leeching skills? yes, please)
Or, the miniature may be deployed with three "ghost flame" tokens and therefore sacrifice them when btb with an enemy to debuff a stat by 1 permanently. Some sort of "Haunting ghosts".
The latest Cult additions have followed a visceral or creepy style (Nezumi and Rat Swarm, or the Burakumins, even the Gaki that's coming in wave 7), so a new "spiritual" character would be nice. I just love this Kato-Ikiryo-Orphan theme with those irritating ki abilities.
Well I'm a little late to the party, and not a cult player, but perhaps instead of rising a 'kairai risen' you instead rise the model you just killed, and to counteract balance issues with this there are certain debuffs like gains soulless, slow, cannot use original model's ki feats (so you couldn't rise an oni and use consume soul for example), rises with only 1/2 the health of original model or something like that...
Nice idea, but I think that would reduce rather than counteract balance problems. It's hard to establish a model's true worth when it could potentially raise a veriety of different models from the grave with varying different profiles.
Yeah, in games that have that sort of thing any number of complications arise. Often you need a clarification for each model with any sort of special rule. (Can Hiro use his Decapitate?)
It also drastically increases the 'spiral of death effect', making the game more boring for the player who has lost an important model. It is hard enough for a Savage Wave player to lose Zuba, but if the opponent gains half a zuba in the same instant, well, it's no fun.
As roleplaying it is cool. Rules-wise it is a nightmare in many ways.
Without making up new rules;
Cheers

"To a real warrior, power perceived may be power achieved."
Adrenaline boost: This Kairai loose Slow Trait and gain +1 Movement.
Sorry my poor english >_< Bushido FTW !!
Soul Infusion - Kirai lose soulless. Therefore available to gain scenario objectives.
Must read first post properly. This was meant as a feat for the puppet master not the Kirai. ignore my ramblings
I was fantastic! And it was a bloody good laugh!

Something that affects the KI of the enemy, like:
Void lock: Enemy models within X must spend +1 KI to use their KI-Feats
or some sort of weakening for the enemy, like:
Low pain tolerance: The next attack against affected target model gains +2
Rooted: Target model may not move during next activation (this would be nice :))
i would like to see a feat that extenses the ZoC of a Kairai for a turn.
i'm a liar... really.
A Ki recovery feat would be good, everytime you spend 2Ki till the end of the turn you can recover 1 for a point of health. for 1Ki,

That's what I wanted to hear my friend!!!
I really was excited for something new. Will it be even more unexpected than the Big Badass Rat Swarm?
Patience, you'll know in less than 8 days now.
