Hi Guys Just a quickie here. I hate Ikiryo, she keps melting the minds of my samurai, so I want to try some sneaking tricks to avoid her gaze.
Can you be facing away from her, then next turn, pivot around to face her and make a charge? Someone told me you can basically turn on the spot before or after taking an action, is this true? If so, man are the cult players at my local club going to hate me....
Thanks in advance

Hi-
whilst you can normally turn on the spot, a charge has to be at something within your LoS at the start of your activation, you can still walk into B2B as part of a melee action, as this does not require LoS, but charging is out of the question I'm afraid. keeping your back turned whilst waling forward is still a good plan though, it can stop he being a two-turn terror at least. running twice on turn one will usually get you in to the objectives, then turn away and walk around fro turn two, whenever you are engaged use the movement you are allowed when you activate to turn away from her if possble too. It's difficult to stay out of her gaze forever but it can be done:) just remember- even a slow Kairai strikes first if they get you from behind!
Never tell me the odds: Han Solo;)

I'm starting to dislike her as well - mostly because I find her so predictable and that you know how much damage she deals. Some sort of damage roll would be better.
Perhaps I'll learn how to counter her, but it's hard. It's generally a contest between who of us gets in an effective shot first. A little boring.

Well, now the Prefecture got Tenshi, which is a good counter versus Ikiryo. It's not the perfect defense against ki nukes, but still, it'll save lives.
You may try taking here down with a short/medium range shot from minuro or the sorceress. 4 wounds will be enough, as she can't deflect them. Use another unit covering him in the front "moonwalking" to death. As soon as Minuro gets to a right distance, you may use Hansos Ki ability to move him out of his friends back (it could be Hanso the one covering him) and find a clean shot. Afterwards, activate Hanso's "command" to make Minuro shoot that damned spirit.
It's risky and complex, but if it works, you can safely eliminate his biggest threat by turn 2-3.
It can, but when I miss Minuro is often dead. But my main point is that she's predictably boring. Luckily my friend who plays the cult agrees.
