Thatnks for the update but there are a couple of problems.
1- Still no page numbers.
2- The changes should still be in red so they can be easily spotted.
3- With the format you have given us I don't think we can print as a double sided booklet, hard to tell without page numbers. Any chance of a single rule page per A4 side option?
4- If you try printing the cover and back are printed 90' to the other pages as these are one page per sheet.
5- For those who don't get free ink, a plain background would be a good idea, also aids in double sided printing as less ink on paper.

thank you for your feedback. On some of these points:
1. there is a page number but it is very faint... this was already the case in the original booklet, we'll look into adjusting some of these details in the near future, but we have concentrated on the content update at this stage, as an interediary step towards a potential reprint (and importantly levelling the source material for the upcoming translations of the QSR).
2. this is in effect a revised press-ready PDF (with minor production aspects, such as page number visibility still to be addressed), so in effect a full version of the rules destined to new users. So, as such, that's not going to happen.
... changes are initially marked in red in the Living FAQ however, up until the next revision... right or wrong, at some point these have to be considered 'resolved' (i.e known to all the veterans) and blended in for the sake of new customer's sanity. Ideally the section in the FAQ marked 'summary of changes' would be more verbose but is has proved difficult. Note that you can subscribe to the Living FAQ, if you wish to know every changes made in real time.
3/4. the PDF is laid out as spreads exactly as production booklet, as an A6 pager... so print at 140% to get an A4 printout, if that's what you want/need, or 2-spread-a-page (4 individual pages) at 100% if your print driver supports it. And do you really need a cover (exclude first and last page to make your life easier)? If you do, then print them out, though what you describe is just how your software is trying to impose the document.
5. that's a fair point, I don't see a problem with that, but I have to check with the others whether they want the rules distributed as such, since it obviously is less 'impressive' with a more bare-naked layout.
Personally, if you are going to print the rules, I would always advise you use the Living FAQ (there is a ''Printer-friendly version' link at the bottom of each page), as it is likely at any point to be more up-to-date, and prints very nicely without any ink-demanding background, and the flexibility to print exactly the section you are interested in.
... but please feel free to offer additional feedback, I'm only responding from a technical point of view, what was aimed for, and the result based on this.
don't ask me about rules, I'm unruly
we have now posted a 'printer-friendly version'. It includes some of your suggested changes as well, but YMMV (what your ideal print layout is may not be the next guy, so it's hard to satisfy everybody
).

Cheers, thats certainly a lot easier to read but almost impossible to print on domestic printers. As far as I can figure out you can only print in landscape with 2 rules pages per side. With the old single page layout you could print in anyway your drivers allowed you. Can't print my double-sided booklet now :(

Resurrecting an old thread here, but I can see where hithero is coming from, as I have the same issue. Printing a double-sided booklet might need pages 18 and 23 on the front side of the paper, and pages 24 and 17 on the back side, for instance. (these particular page numbers don't work with the bushido book, but do give an accurate example of the page order in a double sided booklet).
Adobe PDF's built in driver does allow for booklet printing (page scaling = booklet printing, front or back side only -- unless you have a printer that can auto print on both sides, reverse page order for 2nd run through, unless you resort the paper manually), but this only works if there's one actual page per printed page (it scales and combines pages as needed), as opposed to Bushido's current format of two actual pages per printed page.
So, as a result, I too would like to see a 'standard' single actual page per 'pdf page' as well, as that gives us options. Adobe PDF will allow one to print the document the same way as it is currently shown, if one desires: choose 'multiple pages per sheet' in the page scaling dropdown, 2 pages per sheet (not custom), horizontal page order, auto-rotate pages.
The single actual page per pdf page also would display nicer on tablet devices (android or ipad), given the devices habit of auto-rotating, unless one turns that feature off.

Nebbermine... I figured out a way of doing it with Adobe Pro X. :)
Basically, it involves cropping all the pages, so the left/right margins of the pages are more even. This cropping still leaves 2 pages per... it just chops some off the left & right margins. I eyeballed it to cut off about half the empty space on each side.
Then printing to pdf, with 1/2 size pages (in my case, 8.5x5.5); select "tiling large pages"; upping the zoom so the pages filled (in my case, 145% after crop... was around 133% if you don't crop). That output a pdf file with one actual page per pdf page, which will then allow me to booklet print from the new pdf. :)

Be easier if the rules were single pages :)

Hi, will we be getting a useable/printable set of rules at all? Seem to get no reply on this matter. I've not played since foxy lady was released and want to get back into the game but need to sit down and read up on the rules and any changes - can't do that yet :(

Single page downloadable Pdf is now available. The changes from the living rules online are not integrated yet so i would look through for areas in red online or at the summary of changes. Most are just for clarity.
